The Worldvision Second Chance Q2-2024 - was the 7th edition of the Worldvision Second Chance that has been ever made. The contest took place on 12 August 2024.
Six countries held their open national selections and one country organized consultations to select an application from their shortlist for participation in Worldvision Q2-2024. Italy joined to the contest, while Australia, Denmark, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Sweden and Switzerland withdrew from the contest.
The winner was the Germany with the song "Fantasy", performed by Gayle and Em. Hungary, the United Kingdom, Spain and Thailand rounded out the top five.
Location
The competition was held in an online version and did not assume a host country.
Format
On TBD XX, 2024, it became known that 6 countries were able to fully conduct their selections for Worldvision Q2-2024. According to the rules of the competition, all these countries qualify for the second chance competition. The competition was held in the format of one final.
Changes to the voting system
Due to low amount of participants, for the first time it won't be possible to conduct points in full: there are only 6 participants and the scoring system has 7 scores; Thus, a new system of 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7 ("the lucky seven") of five scores were introduced, which leads to all participants getting at least some points from all voting countries. Hence, in this edition it won't be possible to score a total 0 or less than 5 points overall.
Entries
Admission to countries was granted based on the presence of a national selection or their shortlisting or decision to change the song.
Participating Countries
The countries listed below are eligible to participate after an open selection or the publication of a shortlist of applications for participation.
