Sweden has participated in the Worldvision Song Contest 11 times since making its debut in Q4-2022. The contest is broadcast in Sweden by SVT, which also broadcasts Swedish national selection competition.

Its best results were achieved by Molly Sandén in Q1-2025, who finished in second place. During the entire period of participation, the country was included in the top-5 strongest finals 3 times. The Q4-2024 season marks the first time the country has failed to qualify for the final. Sweden has failed to qualify for the final once so far. In contrast, Swedish worst result in the grand final is the last place to have been achieved once: in Q3-2023 when MIN t received 54 points for their entry "Tiger".
The country is represented mainly by English performers. The country was once represented by a composition in Swedish.
Nation selection
Sweden has held an open nation selection ("Melfest") once, in the Q1-2024 season. The country has previously organised closed selection of entries three times, using consultations with other participating broadcasters.
