New Zealand has participated in the Worldvision Song Contest 4 times since their debut in Q2-2023. The country was supposed to debut at the Q4-2022 competition. The contest is broadcast in New Zealand by TVNZ, which also broadcasts New Zealand national selection competition, Aotearoa Decides.

Its best results were achieved by Kimbra in Q2-2023, who finished in second place. During the entire period of participation, the country was included in the top-5 strongest finals 1 time. The Q4-2024 season marks the first time the country has failed to qualify for the final. New Zealand has failed to qualify for the final once so far.
The country was mainly represented by English-language compositions, except for season Q1-2025, when a composition in Serbian was sent to the competition.
