Madýar Nationala is a song competition organised by MTV (Hungarian public broadcasters) every six months. It determines the country's representative for the WorldVision Song Contest, and has been running since summer 2022.

Origins

The first "Madýar Nationala" was held on 19 May 2022 at Vigadó of Pest in Budapest; seven songs participated. Six "expert" juries from ather countries and the puplic has have the same set of points and decided the winner. The competition was won by Adele performing "Oh My God".

Participation

To be eligible, performers must be at least sixteen years of age on the day of the first Worldvision semi-final. There were no restrictions on the Hungarian affiliation of the performers, as well as language restrictions. The number of participants for the season is also not reported.

Hosting

The first season was decided to be held in Budapest.

Format

At the moment, it is not known in what final format the competition will take place. The first season took place in the format of one round (final) with the participation of seven songs and the voting of the jury and the public.

Voting

The competition provides for the voting of the international jury and the audience in a percentage ratio of 86% to 14%. The jury consists of 6 curators from other countries and the public votes with a set of points: 12, 10, 8, 6, 4 and 2 points, forming the sum of the scores from the seven score slots.
