| The first "Australia Decides" was held on 21 May 2022 at TBA in [[:en:Gold Coast, Queensland|Gold Coast]]; seven songs participated. Eight "expert" juries from states and territorias of Australia decided the winner. The competition was won by [[:en:Meg Mac|Meg Mac]] performing "Is It Worth Being Sad".

| To be eligible, performers must be at least sixteen years of age on the day of the first Worldvision semi-final. There were no restrictions on the Australian affiliation of the performers, as well as language restrictions, at least in the first edition all compositions were performed in English. The number of participants for the season is also not reported.
