The Conquiz Tournaments Quarter 3 - 2023 - was the 3rd edition of the Conquiz Tournaments that has been ever made and was held beetwen 11 to 21 October 2023.
The tournament was attended by 14 countries, of which Cyprus and Switzerland are debut in the competition. Croatia, Greece, the Netherlands and Portugal returning after their absence from the previous edition. Last season's competitors Israel, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam did not participate. The final game included the Netherlands and Denmark, in which the Netherlands won.
The Game
The "Chess" on the chess-samara.ru platform was chosen as the game of this season. At the moment, it is not known exactly how many days and in how many stages the competition will take place.
Rules
Main article: Rules of chess
All chess rules was preserved for games between participants in this season. The tournament took place in two stages: group games with two groups of 7 participants and playoffs. The 4 best chess players from each group advanced to the playoffs. For a win in group matches, 3 points were given, for a draw, both players were awarded 1 point, and for a loss, 0 points.
For one game, each player is given exactly 5 minutes + 10 seconds after each move. If the player's time runs out, he is awarded an automatic defeat, and the opponent is awarded an automatic victory.
Participating Countries
Twelve countries have confirmed their participation in the third season - Australia, Croatia, Cyprus, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lebanon, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. Israel, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam withdrew from competition. Initially, Japan and Portugal were not included in the list of participants and were added during the first day of group games.
