Q1-2023

Open Nippon Q1-2023 will be the 2nd edition of the Japanese music competition and will be held between 4 and 5 January 2023 in Okinawa (Okinawa Arena). The winner of the contest will be eligible to represent Japan at Worldvision Song Contest Q1-2023.

Format

Okinawa Arena

Open Nippon Q1-2023, organised by Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK World), was held in the format of one final with the participation of four invited compositions released no earlier than 1 October 2021.

Voting

This season of the national preselection has undergone a change in voting: this way the jury voting has been removed and the audience will influence the results of the compositions 100%. So each viewer has the right to vote for one of the compositions he likes, and for all four.

Final

Voting will take from 4 to 5 January 2023.
