Japan in the Worldvision Q3-2023
Japan participated in the Worldvision Song Contest Q3-2023 in Cologne, Germany with the song "tba" performed by tba. The Japanese broadcaster NHK organised the national final for Q3-2023 contest in order to select the Japanese entry for the Q3-2023 contest. Four entries competed in the national final, and the winner was announced on 3 September 2023 following the public vote.

Open Nippon Q3-2023 was the 3rd edition and took place on 3 September 2023. The winner of the contest will be eligible to represent Japan at Worldvision Song Contest Q3-2023.
Format
Open Nippon Q3-2023 was held in the format of one final with the participation of four invited compositions released no earlier than 1 January 2021.
Voting
Any interested participant in the forthcoming contest (29 eligible voters, including the representative of Japan) had the right to vote. Each voter had to give 1 point to the most liked composition and simultaneously remove 1 point from the most disliked composition. At the time of voting, each composition had 10 points on its balance sheet. As a result, tba voters exercised their right to vote.
