Worldvision Song Contest Summer 2022 - Is the first WorldVision Song Contest that has been ever made. It is set to take place on 23 July 2022. The location of the first season will be announced on 5 May 2022.

Bidding parties

IECO has announced the call for applications for the competition, which will be accepted from 2 to 4 May 2022. At the moment, six countries have submitted their applications to organize the competition, two of which have two candidates each:

  •   Greece, Piraeus; The Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium (Capacity: 32.100).
  •   Hungary, Budapest; Lazlo Papp Arena (Capacity: 12.500).
  •   Japan, Okinawa; Okinawa City Multi-Purpose Arena (Capacity: 10.000).
  •   Japan, Tokyo; Ariake Arena (Capacity: 12.000).
  •   Spain, Barcelona; Palau Sant Jordi Arena (Capacity: 18.000).
  •   United Kingdom, London; O2 Arena (Capacity: 20.000).
  •   United States, Syracuse; Carrier Dome (Capacity: 56.200).
  •   United States, Tulsa; BOK Center (Capacity: 19.200).

Stakeholders

Stakeholders are those cities or regions that have expressed potential interests in hosting the Games.

  •   China, Shanghai; Mercedes-Benz Arena (Capacity: 18.000).
  •   South Korea, Busan; Sajik Arena (Capacity: 14.100).

Canceled or rejected bids

After the announcement of the acceptance of applications for the competition, additional rules for the compliance of the application were announced. The following bids did not meet the roofing clause for the host site:

The following countries have reported their reluctance to host the Summer '22 contest: France, Germany, New Zealand, Portugal and Thailand.

For the Summer 2022 season, songs released on the YouTube platform no earlier than 1 July 2021 are eligible. Quotas, which could be requested by the participating countries in order to be able to exhibit a composition in a language other than the main language of the country, will not be distributed in the debut season.

Allocation draw

The draw to determine the participating countries' final will place on 26 Juny 2022. 16 countries will be divided into two parts of 8 countries by random selection.

The order of performance of the finalists will be known on 1 July 2022. The order will be determined by the organizers of the competition.

As of 1 May 2022, twenty nine countries have confirmed their intention to participate in the Summer 2022 edition, but only sixteen will promotion to the grand final.

Final

The final will take place on 23 July 2022. Sixteen countries will participate in the final, which will be announced on 25 June 2022.
