Thirty-six countries | Thirty-six countries participated in the contest, with [[Bosnia and Herzegovina]] and [[Cuba]] participating for the first time. It was announced that [[Belgium]], [[Ireland]] and [[Russia]] would not be taking part due to various reasons.
